i was doing a numerical on block shear failure. a 350 kN load is applied on the section. when solving for both LRFD and ASD, the values came out to be like this
484 kN for LRFd and 323 kN for ASD.
so which value to consider since one is higher and the other lower than 350 kN?
so will the section fail in block shear and why?
can some please help on this?

If the 350 KN is non-factored (working) load, yes, it will fail per your ASD calculation. You need to apply appropriate load factor to the load in order to compare it with result from LRFD.
